Scripture/Story Reading: Luke 24 (NIV)
LESSON LEARNED: Jesus died to free us from our sins! God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for us and He rose again three days later. Because Jesus lives, we are now forgiven and we get to live with him forever.
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
“Anyone who believes in Christ is a new creation. The old is gone! The new has come!”
SUMMARY:
Despite being dead, buried and secured in a tomb, Jesus was raised to life again on to be seated at the Right Hand of the Father in Heaven! Because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, we can experience forgiveness of our sins and have new life too!
A SIMPLE PRAYER:
Dear God,
Thank you for the resurrection of your son, Jesus. Thank you for the cross and what it represents. Thank you for making me clean and forgiving my sins. Thank you for my family, my friends, and for being able to celebrate your life, today and everyday!
